A certain amount of May's Kalua pork recalled by a meat company

It was announced yesterday by the Palama Meat Company that the kalua pork which was processed at the company's Kapolei plant would be recalled.

This was a voluntary recall, and the pork which was recalled was processed in the period between August 4 and the last Thursday. The reason for this recall was because a bacterium called listeria monocytogenes was found to be present in the pork when it was tested.

But the company has claimed that no reports have been heard of any illnesses being caused by the pork.
