Grants to be provided to enhance the training of care givers

There are a number of reports which have stated that in Hawaii around twenty one percent of the adults serve as car givers for the elderly people.

But the fact is that a majority of these people have never received any formal training for the care they provide. The Kupuna Education Center has taken a new initiative at the Kapi 'olani Community College, and under it there might be training and assistance available for these individuals. The family care giving training and active aging programs held last year gave service to around two hundred people.
